Kinect launch game line up

So basically if you’re a fitness freak or think video games can make you look fit or are overweight and think Kinect will help you lose weight, then maybe kinect is for you?

But if you like to play puzzle games, bowling, pool, snooker, shooters, zombie games etc…. Maybe better to look elsewhere.

I don’t know but that really does look to be the most useless launch lineup ever.

Move had –

Resident Evil – Fantastic Zombie Shooter
Heavy Rain – Excellent interactive story
Sports Champions – Table tennis lol
High Velocity Bowling – Well its bowling
Tumble – Addictive puzzle game
MAG – Online shooter
RUSE – RTS game

Ooo more that I’ve maybe forgot about. Looks like MS are aiming the Kinect at the younger market and tapping into the fitness market as well. Guess there are a lot of fat yanks out there that need to lose a bit of flab.. lol

Yes Move, an excellent selection of OLD games to use your controllers with.

True... Least the kit doesn't cost £150 though. However seeing as i'd got some of this games that got patched for move, the outlay for me and move was a heck of a lot less and if I want to get fit - I'll use the £150 towards a gym membership.. lol

Did you even look at the launch games? there is a lot more than just fitness games

Yes... I looked. I was pointing out there was a lot of fitness games in that list as well as what looks to be lot of expensive shovelware. Honestly not one game in that list could tempt me to part with £150...

Heavy Rain I owned already, I got Resident Evil for £15 and the move kit cost me £40. I did pick up Sports Champions which was £25 so final bill for three games and the controller kit was £80... Nearly half the cost, but anyhow. each to their own.

Sure some won't mind to part with best part of £250 for kit and 3 or more games etc... :p:eek:

You are taking RRP prices and comparing it to what you managed to pick things up for.
Now, I am not saying that the Kinect is cheap and I am not even considering one just saying your number are no use.

I know, its a tad bias but even taking away RRP Kinect is not cheap, its launch titles are mostly shovelware and I'd not recommend anyone considers getting this until some stronger titles come out for it- but that is IMO.

I only got the move as it was cheap and I had some games I could patch and the launch titles might have been shovelware as well, resident evil and sports champions were cheap and not too bad...

I can understand the RRP arguement though, lets just wait and see..

guess all I'm saying is that this is bascially no better then Sony move launch - just looks more expensive IMO and even more shovelware then before..

Poor line up, and not worth the outlay.

Not a lot to interest me there to be honest, think i'll be waiting to see what else comes out and a price drop on the hardware.

For the markets they are aimed at, the launch line up of the Kinnect is imo a lot better than the two new titles offered by Sony for the Move.

Better yes (not hard tbh), but a lot better no....

How many different fitness, sports or dance games are people going to buy? I would have thought one of each would do fine.

Fair enough...

Think I'll go with -

Resident Evil 5
Tiger Woods 2011
Sports Champions
Tumble
RUSE
High Veocity Bowling
Kung Fu Rider
Start the Party
Raquet Sports
Flight Control HD
TV Superstars
Eyepet
Heavy Rain
Hustle Kings
Pain
Toy Story 3
Planet Minigolf
MAG

Future titles that will have Move support include titles like

Dead Space 2: Extinction
Little Big Planet 2
Time Crisis
Infamous 2
Oddworld: Strangers Wrath
SOCOM 4
Killzone 3
Sorcory

and think I'll use my move camera for GT5 as a head tracker....

Move appeals to some, Kinect to others and to some none of these systems appeal..

The kinect to me is overpriced and I don't see me rushing out the door to buy one... however i'm sure anyone who does will maybe buy it for some reason or another...

Now if they buy one just to support the system and not get a game or accept some of the shovelware - then more fool them..

oh and the PS3 move had its fair share of shovelware, but some of the titles I listed were /are decent. and thats more then two..!!

One game would be fine but you can tell buy the Wii software sales figures alone that a shed load of people buy loads of similar styles of games.

As for iv-tecmans list of Sony games. I'd rather play most with a controller and out of that list I can only see the Wii bunch playing the likes of Eyepet or Sports Champions possibly the bowling or golf game.

That must be why third party developers are abandoning the Wii in droves ;)

Seriously though, isn't the Wii's problem that, barring the Mario games, people aren't buying the software? It was reported back at the end of 2008 that Wii games were the fastest discounted (http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/25/data-shows-wii-games-discounted-fastest/) - a quick trip into any high street game shop would suggest that this hasn't got any better.

I have plenty of PC friends who are very excited about playing the likes of SOCOM and KZ3 with a Move. It could well be the close-enough-to-a-mouse control option that they've been looking for.

MS and Sony both appear to have the right idea - HD shovelware for the Wii crowd, additional features for the core gamer. While I have no interest in Kinect, the idea of being able to shout commands to squad members, or to issue orders via hand commands is very cool.

Guys guys guys, both Move and Kinect are ****

Fanboy war over :)

*runs*

lol well guess that’s one way to end a discussion.

However my war is all about price and value, and I see no value with kinect over a more reasonably priced move controller. Microsoft have a bit of kit that costs nearly as much as the console that it runs on, whereas Sony released a bit of tech that was relativity cheap and you can easily get some top games for less then £25 if you look around..

Heavy Rain, Resident Evil 5 and Sports Champions are all less then £25 and decent games as well.

Anyhow, as said. Its pointless, I’m arguing over the fact the kinect is at this time an overpriced bit of kit with nothing worthwhile playing. And the move is cheap with patched games that most have already played, but both have a use in the future I guess..

Wait and see..
