Kinect vs Move

Its great to see the top consoles going with what the masses want, but both still look shoddy in terms of development and not far from what the wii has already achieved that is years old now. nintendo will have to pull their fingers out otherwise I guess these will outdo the party console that the wii holds.

Move in just a wii ripoff, which will probably be better developed due to it being sony, Kinect has potential but no doubt nothing more than as you say limited

I am not interested, its a gimmick, all the games look good but the lack of feedback means they are nothing more than polished wii controls. Great for having at a party but in your bedroom/living room on your own, its gets boring.

Easily the Move as it is just like the Wiimote, a tried and tested formula that actually works, and the Move could potentially be better.

As always mentioned, still having buttons and just something to hold for feedback is very important. Relying on nothing but gestures with the Kinect can cause nothing but problems if it doesn't work at a crucial time.

Still, Kinect makes for an awesome menu navigation device. :p

Already got a Wii and that wore pretty thin after 2days. So the novelty of it all is gone for me..

DO LIKE the idea of waving me arms around though to scroll through menus on the Kenetic, providing it's not as annoying as when you go to a toilet and want some paper to come out of these motion sensing dispensers.. So they better get it spot on, otherwise it'll be a load of rubbish.

MS need to go back to the drawing board after Sony's showed what Move will be bringing to the table

Quoted for truth. Give me a normal pad any day of the week.

I can't say until I've had a go with them, but I don't think that scene in Minority Report ( which every sci-fi film now copies) would have looked as cool if Tom cruise was controling the device with a ***** in his hand.

Kudos to MS for trying to Move things forward.

Both gimmicks tbh. But a Star wars game would sell either for me :) Kinect would be good for simulating Force Pushes and Move for Light Sabres.

Does anyone know how they did the acceleration and braking in the Forza Kinect demo and also for the avatar/xbla/kat/racing game. That was the one thing I though controls would be needed for yet they didn't show how it worked in the conference yesterday.

Have to wait for floor impressions, the kinect presentation stuff was at least partly faked, there's video showing the characters on screen moving before the person, not seen any of Forza but might have been the same.

Depends on the pricepoint to be honest.

If MS charge £150 for the Camera and Sony Charge £100 for the camera controller and attatchment controller, and considering I like Move better I'll go with move though I'm not really set on it yet, I'd rather spend the money on games.

I thought this was like Just Dance where the animation is pre rendered but the camera detectcs the position you have your body in and gives you points based on the criteria.

By the look of the Forza demo you don't control the speed, just the steering. He said during the demo the point of this was to see how many cars you could overtake. The starwars demo was just an on rails slasher. You couldn't even walk forward, you must have had to do a gesture and the guy shoots forward along a line.

Rubbish really.

I doubt they would fake stuff in front of hundreds (thousands?) of tech savvy journalists. The dancing looked real to me, I guess it would be hard for me to judge as the stream I saw sometimes showed you the Screen, sometimes the person doing the demo and rarely both, but again, I don't think they would gain anything by faking it.

Edit:

This would explain how the dancing looked so good.

I'm not a fan of the wii tbh. I'll probably get a move, as I think that will appear in more games I will actually play.

Also I like the idea of holding something when I am playing a game. I liked the idea of games utilising it or not, like KZ3.
