Kinect will kill Gaming

What if your forced onto having to buy kinect because most new games support it?
 
I must admit i do like the idea of being able to scroll through some menu's using motion.(such as choosing your movie for the eve). Depends how sensitive it is.. If i get up to go take a whizz, will it start shifting menus randomly? As i walk past the thing on my way to the john ?

As for gaming, can't see myself holding an invisible wheel or prancing around like a fairy to pull of a move.
 
Good, then Microsoft can gtfo out of the console industry and it can once again be dominated by Sony and handheld plataform can be dominated by Nintendo, just like the good ol'days.

This line of thinking is completely irrational. Competition spurs the industry on to do better. If Sony had the lone console, they would not feel the need to improve themselves. Look at the PS3 and the 360's software development over time relative to each other. There's a direct correlation and it's down to one important thing: competition!

I have to admit that Forza 4 video with Kinect actually looks really sharp and playable. I just hope it wasn't staged. It seemed too perfect.

I think, based on pre-orders, Kinect is lined up to sell well.

I still don't see how it's going to be used for traditional games but I guess time will tell.
 
I must admit that this does not appeal to me at all, and the Forza thing is worrying.

Forza is one of my Favourite games and I don't want the next version ruined because MS wan't to force Kinect into it. I wouldn't mind so much if it was there as a simple addon, maybe looking to the left, right or into the mirror would add to the experience but that's as far as it goes. But then that's an expensive addon to do that!

As for the rest of the games, nothing appeals at all.. Really hopedevelopers don't feel obliged to incorporate it into games just for the sake of it.
