I had the 3K version which was a step down from the normal one and I was pleased with the results. Had it for about 6 months and had no hiccups (apart from a mobo issue).
It should perform better than a Crucial M4. Arent the M4's slow at writing compared to current SSD's?
I've had mine since launch (£400 ) and it's been great, just make sure the f/w is up to date because before that the drive would disappear at times and require a restart.
Sandforce based drives are basically fine now after some firmware updates.
M4 was praised because of its reliability. Also, the reads are about the standards they are today so they are still good drives, just not for those who make lots of writes to the drive and need speed.
I agree with WuMyster, yes Sandforce based drives are fine after firmware updates but Kingston older drives were some other controller not SandForce, they started using Sf since previous year.
