Hey guys, so I have been using Kinguin for games for a while now without issues, also used G2A and other sites. I bought Bit Defender Total Security 2016 yesterday from Kinguin which came via a Hong Kong seller, the key activated and said I have 856 days which I thought was great for £5!. Today I have turned on my pc and recieve an email from Bit Defender saying my key has been revoked!!! Clearly complained and will get my money back but still, didn't expect this.

This is the company name on the invoice - GamingParadise.
Gamma I like Bit Defender and of the ones I have used over the years and there have been lots, they are one of the best imo.

I think he means, Kinguin is like a marketplace for other companies to sell you their keys. There will be bad companies on there, that is what rating systems are for (hopefully).

I've bought multiple keys from them, one was a problem, they processed a refund and I bought it from a different reseller. It was the reseller who gave me the bad key, not Kinguin.

So list the bad reseller and don't use that company again.

Now Kinguin process payments, if they either refused to help you out getting a refund(which I believe they do themselves then work it out with the reseller) or if you get credit card details stolen or something by Kinguin as they take the payment and then pay the reseller, then you blame Kinguin.

I can't remember the name of the reseller who gave me a faulty key now, it's been a while. Worth remembering I used the e-mail/ticket system and didn't get a reply quickly, went to the online chat which I didn't see at first and got through straight away and they got onto the problem.

EDIT:- I think you edited in the reseller bit after I started typing a reply. The payment should be to Kinguin then they deal with the reseller. I haven't noticed Kinguin listed as the seller of keys on any titles I've looked at but I suppose that is definitely possible.

Also the reason the guy said it was a waste is antivirus is nearly completely pointless.

If you aren't clicking on every pop up that says "hey, click me, I'm totally not a virus" they you really aren't very likely to get viruses. Windows defender is actually excellent.

Install adblockpro, adblockpro pop up addon(i think that is what it's called), and ghostery and 99% of adds and stupid popups will disappear. In donkeys years windows defender + basic ad/pop up blockers and no paid for AV, no problems on any computer I've used.

AV is mostly a con to begin with and it's mostly a tool to protect people from themselves. Might be tempted to buy a more complete AV package for someone like my mum or dad because they are inept when it comes to computers but anyone slightly computer literate really doesn't need AV anymore.

Windows Defender is a full AV package now since Windows 8, based on Microsoft Security Essentials, and works very well.

Only thing I can suggest is contact Kinguin to see if they can help you with a refund, and see if there's a way to report the reseller.

Yeah was using the built in windows 10 one but really never liked it.
Orcvader I was given a refund pretty much instantly, they were quick. I have left the seller bad feedback on Kinguin, I don't normally leave feedback on that site.

Why pay for AV like this, things like AVAST Free does the same (if not better) job, with less hassle and in a better interface.

I get free Kaspersky Internet Security (all Barclays customers who bank online do) so I happily use it.
