looking to get a console for the front room, something the misses can use as well, cant decide on what to get, the blueray player draws me in on the ps3 but i prefer the xbox.

how do people find move or kinnect? and does anyone know how far back from the tv u need to be? as my room is rather small in regards to tv location and sofa :D

my room is really odd shaped, dont think i quite have 6ft distance from where the tv is to where i would stand, more like 3 or 4 :( not sure how much i can re jig my room without having a tv against a patio door or window :(

move is better for small spaces
i think kinect needs to see you from head to foot in the camera ?
move just needs to see the controllers moving about

My kids got a kinect for crimbo and space is definately a problem the kids can stand about 4 foot away and be ok ,but me being over 6'4" i need to be about 8 feet away

If you have the space then kinect is the dogs, if you don't or you like to sit on your sofa and wave your hands about pick up a move.

Also look at the types of games you want to play with it. Kinect has only casual games so far and require some kind of physical movement. The scope for Move games is much wider.

i spent new years eve day at the mother in laws on kinect and i own a move and i definatly happy i picked up the move, personally due to the lack of a controller the kinect control is either basic or slow... yes i had a lot of fun at times but in the same way as when the wii was first released, more of a social lets laugh at the people looking like fools way

note i also didnt pick up kinect due to space as i had to be a good 8 foot back to play and no game is worth re-organising the house for.

Think you need 6ft of room for kinect and have heard its a very good piece of kit.

works fine from 3ft but 6ft is optimal.

even at 3ft its very responsive and most games are still easy

well im 6"6 and its fine for me even close it detects when my arms are stretched to the ceiling etc, maybe yours is at a dodgy angle looking down to much because it was calibrated for a very small child?

Get a dc and play quality games while *shock* sitting down? :p

I dont see the appeal of jumping around in gaming...and dislike that kinect freaks out at you if you leave lol.

Not sure what move is like but I prefer wii over kinect any day.

If you want an interaction console then the Wii is by far the best (excluding graphics and audio). It's got a huge catalogue of games and whilst admittedly most are pants, there are plenty of very good ones too.

They are dirt cheap now also. :)

Personally I haven't had much luck with the move kit and would like to try the kinect.

My Move controllers don't seem to work properly in games like resident evil but the sports champions demo it seems fine?

I think Kinect captures the 'wii' fun factor and multiplies it by 2 IMO..

Move is much more serious, and highly accurate, but it completely misses the fun aspect..

My missus/kids just didn't use Move much at all, so I nicked the PS Eye for GT5 and moved the PS3 out the front room, in contrast, the Kinect has usurped the Wii for us, and it's been sold..

Bottom line for me, if you want hardcore motion gaming, get Move, if you want the casual fun factor, get Kinect, you can also take advantage of all the good XBLA games, my kids are addicted to Trials HD and splosion man.

Im loving kinect and i want to invest in move soon but will i need that playstaion eye camara thing to go with it?

Yeah you will need a camera to go with it bud , you can buy them both in a bundle .
When i have more space available i will buy kinect also might even get a new 360s to go with it just not sure what games to get . in a way im waiting for some more serious titles before i purchase .

Cannot wait for killzone 3 in 3d and move not many months left now :D might even buy the big gun attachment .

Ok cool cheers for that stella :)

Its your choice, move has fewer party/ casual games and more "proper" games avaialbe now, it requires less space but still a fair bit of space is still needed. Kinect has the WOW factor (unless you used the eyetoy;) ) and is an easier entry point to casual gaming, after a bit of use i cant see the what all the fuss is about its good fun but at present feels limited. Dont understand people not having issues with space, perhaps for 1 player but 2 player games you do need quite a bit of room especially with young kids darting around next doors little kid has been knocked over a few times when playing sports (hard not to laugh though). Im giving it a while TBH Move has some good core games coming out soon such as Killzone 3, SOCOM 4 and Kinect is the main focus of MS for the forseable future so i would like to see what core/hybrid games are like this year. I wouldnt base my decsion which of those consoles to get just on the ability of the motion controllers though.
