This should be an easy one but isn’t.

Stuck a new cabinet in 5 years or so ago. Just want to add a shelf.

Nothing special it’s most likely a B&Q or could be Wickes £40 carcass and I had the door to match.

Can I find shelves off the shelf, can I heck. Expected this to be dead easy and cheap to do….

Yes I could buy a large piece of furniture panel and cut it.

I’ll throw away most of the panel as I don’t need it/don’t have space to store it for the one time I might need it in 5 years time.

If it’s not cut millimetre perfect (would use circular saw and clamp something on as a straight edge) ill end up with a bit of play so buying the exact size off the shelf is/would be easier.

Width is 564mm for a 600mm cabinet. Anywhere which sells them at a reasonable price £10 or so?

Ikea kitchen cabinet shelves are around £10 for a pack of 2

You want the UTRUSTA range. Eg 60x60 based shelf (you dont mention depth required)

Are you looking for full depth or wall cabinet? And what colour

Went B&Q, had to buy 2.5m of furniture board (no off cuts) but had them buzz me down two shelves from it.

Seemed a bit pricey at £20 (when the whole carcass was about £50) since I didn’t need hardly any of the material but ah well I have my extra shelf in!

I presume this is what you mean?

I might need to do the same for mine

Yeah that’s what I used I just only needed the 500mm deep. Went with the 18mm thick as same as the original and figured the extra strength needed with cast iron pans:

If anyone needs them I have two 564 x 510mm and a 964 x 510mm kitchen shelves.

Just installed a corner pullout and a set of pullout drawers so they are no longer required.

In our new home we took out the dishwasher, neither of us like them and replaced it with a cupboard. A B&Q carcass and a shelf. It took our guy quite a while to fit it as the resulting space was not quite 60cm.

Needless to say the dishwasher, a Bosch, disappeared off our drive in no time flat. Someone obviously wanted it.

No idea why you would remove a dishwasher for a cabinet, especially if working!

For whatever reason, that width doesn't seem to exist.

I think in your shoes I'd probably look at this and ripping it to width (or length as B&Q refer to it)
