Kitchen plaster…. Anyone who can help?

Might be a stupid question but if I was to Marmox boards over the top of the bad plaster, I would dot and dab this onto the wall and then mechanically screw it in.

Would this be sufficient to hold the weight of kitchen cabinets? I’m guessing they would be attached by going through the marmox, bad plaster and into the wall behind?

It’s all completely new to me.
For kitchen cabinets on dot and dab get corefix dot n dab heavy duty fixings. They are brilliant.

I think you need to use proper screws or wall anchors:

Place dabs where you want the fixings for the kitchen units then you can use normal plugs and fixings. For the board fixings look at spankers, simply drill the dabs and hammer home, all very easy.

Dot n dabbing was (is) new to me too, I found it a bit trickier than YT etc make it out to be. If the wall isn't level or plumb and if the board is warped then it doesn't just go straight up. I had to fill parts/gaps in with foam. I'd practice a lot before doing it, applying the dots and dabs etc to the wall also. I tried doing all the dabs first and it worked to some degree but again not as simple as it looks. It's also quite messy. Even the dowels (not screws) with dot and dabbing, if your hole is slightly off the dowel won't be flush.

Maybe it's just me though...

I'd prefer to batten out and screw the board in next time, I think it's a much better fix/securing of the board. You do need the space to be able to do this, which I didn't have on the two walls that I had to dot n dab.
