We are in the process of refurbishing our kitchen and we are struggling to find the room for a radiator of sufficient size, my research led me to look at plinth heaters which I had previously dismissed as I had assumed there were essentially electric fan heaters until I found out that you can get them designed to work as part of your central heating setup and they actually seem pretty impressive in terms of output and efficiency etc. anyone had any experience with a product like the one linked below?

We fitted one in the kitchen of our old house, and I thought it was excellent. The fan automatically kicks in when the unit detects that the water in the central heating pipes is warm - and it used to start up within a couple of minutes of the heating being turned on. Warmed the room up great as well.

The only problem we had with it was that the dog used to sit in front of it and steal all the heat!

Had a similar issue when wifey wanted to put a cupboard where the radiator was.
I moved radiator and got cast iron freestanding one and attached to end of the kitchen island. Cast iron copper, looks nice but cost £500 :(

I fitted a Myson Kickspace in the kitchen years ago and it works a treat. It's not dual running like the one in your link, mine just comes on when it senses heat from the heating coming on.

And similar to above, the cats like the warm air in our kitchen. :)

They are straight forward to fit (I'm in the heating trade) but I would make sure you're not fitting it to a dirty heating circuit, as they are notorious for blocking up, being located at the bottom of the system and having a fine tube heat exchanger. So make sure your heating system is clean and healthy.

Thanks still thinking about it, the heating system is old but we are replacing most of the radiators and will take the opportunity to fit a mag clean type filter as the cheapskates from British Gas didn’t bother 5 years ago when they did the install!

Replaced the fully electric one in our kitchen with one when we had a boiler / new rads fitted. Thoroughly recommend them, so convenient that they come on with the rest of the heating circuit.
Don’t buy it from Amazon though.. https://www.plumbnation.co.uk/site/smith-s-space-saver-ss5-fan-convector---kitchen-plinth-heater
I nearly said that I didn't remember it being anywhere near that expensive - but to be honest it was probably 10 years ago, so I couldn't remember for sure. Your link looks a lot more like it though.
