Kitchen Water Filter System

Rather than bump a really old thread on water filtration, I thought it best to start a fresh discussion focusing on a specific issue.

We've recently retired our old filter jug and, after staying in accommodation with a plumbed-in system, we're looking to upgrade to a higher-quality, easier-to-use solution.
The key question I have is this: Is there a kitchen drinking water filter system where the water does not come into contact with any plastic whatsoever?

While UK tap water is legally 'safe for consumption,' we'd like to improve the taste and quality further, going beyond basic filtration to reduce things like chlorine, heavy metals, and residual contaminants.

The plumbed-in system we used was great, but the filter housing (and possibly internal components?) was plastic. Although these systems improve water quality, the risk of microplastics getting into the drinking water is a concern I'd like to eliminate.

I am specifically looking for systems that use components made from materials like stainless steel, glass, or ceramic to ensure the filtered water doesn't then come into contact with plastic.

Has anyone successfully found a system that achieves genuinely zero-plastic water contact?
