Well I took the plunge into DSLRs and selected the D5100 with 55-300mm lens and have been playing around with it for a week. Travelled down to Worthing on the South Coast and captured some of the kite surfing during the early evening. Must say I'm very impressed with the quality and so happy to now have a DSLR. Thanks for your tips and recommendations for camera choice! :)

Really can't fault these at all, number three is definitely my favourite... good job considering it potentially could have been a bit of hard task trying to focus on them speeding around everywhere!

Cheers, I tried shooting some surfers earlier in the week with single-point static focus with limited results not helped by the fact I was addicted to max aperture! Tried the D5100's 3D tracking system with fast shutter priority and can honestly say +80% of photos taken were in perfect focus.

Really like those, particularly 3 & 5. I know you like the BW ones but I much prefer the colour ones over them, I don't think the BW ones work as well as the colour for this particular subject.

Really great shots! :D Good job. I love the camera, still haven't invested in a new lens from kit though. #8 and #18 for me stand out. Seems like a lovely lens.
