How is sound leakage on these?

I'm looking for some cheap closed back phones for recording vocals. They don't have to sound amazing just not be too noisy from the outside.

Don't think leakage would be an issue with these.

Yesterday when I brought it to my office and let some lads trying it, one of them when he tried on his iphone, he couldn't hear what I was saying, and I couldn't hear his music neither, despite I was standing right next to him.

I have some CAL! (the first edition) that I use as a spare pair. Undecided if these would be a good alternative.

Wait for PapaLazaru's verdict. He has owned the CAL! in the past, so should be able to tell you if these will be a decent alternative.

I did indeed. But I don't have them anymore so can only really compare them to CAL 2.

Anyway, took them out and plugged them into my phone. Straight off they are bassy and they sounded a little muddy, but that is a given as they are very closed and fit really snug on the ears so there will be a smaller soundstage.

I am at home now and they sound instantly better from my DAC so I am going to give them some burn in time before making a judgement.

One thing which is really good is the sound leakage. There is hardly any and they do stop all normal outside noise getting in. They will be great for the train or airplane or in bed (if you share a bed).

I'll report back tomorrow once they have had some burn in time but they do sound pretty decent already and I think for £20.00 they are looking like a bargain.

Yea I left them burn in overnight, and it already sounded better the next morning.

They sound a lot better after only a couple of hours. Sound isolation is superb. No leakage and I am typing on my mechanical keyboard with a low volume and I can't hear anything apart from the music.

Far better than my in-ear Soundmagic E10's and Cambridge Audio MX40's. And so comfortable. Kind of makes them redundant for travel use.

Had some burn in time now and to be honest, they are a real steal for £20.00.

Soundstage is not great compared to full size headphones (as to be expected) and they are bass heavy, but they are very pleasant to listen to. Good detail. Mine got passed around my team today at work and 6 sets were ordered. I've managed to get all the iphone owners to make the step up from their buds.

Thinking about getting another set as backup.

*edit*

As someone asked earlier in the thread - CAL's are superior for home use, though for commuting I would prefer these due to the sound isolation (I am thoughtful of others) and size of them.

*edit*

Also wish you could replace the cable.

Yea I myself prefer over-ear more than on-ear due to not very used to having headphones pressing down on my ear, but I have not issue with the Klipsch, as the earpadding is so soft and comfortable, and I have no problem with it at all!

Yea it's criminal for anyone to be using those stock earbuds in the public, as they are force-sharing their music with people around them like nobody business :p

I'm just pleased they are all making their first (hopefully) step-up into better quality audio. I'll get them using DAC's on their laptops next. :D

These are just horrible to listen to as stock - they needed some serious EQing before I could listen to them, bass was just all over the place. After a few cuts in the bass region I have to echo PapaLazaru's thoughts, they are a good on-ear set of portables for a stupidly low price. Definitely worth the £20 if you're in the market.

Got to the payment page.

Then thought to myself wtf do I need another pair of headphones for and cancelled it.

It's a nice price but £20 for something you don't need is pointless.

You need more time for burn in. My was horrible even with my DAC , but now it sounds very good even from my phone after about five days.

Got 15 hours burn in atm, am actively burning them in - despite not believing in the burn in process :)

I recall my bass was so messy, that it was actually getting in the way me listening to the vocals...but now today I listened to it again out and about on my phone...I honestly this Klipsch is on par, if not better than for example the Sony MDR10RC, so for £20 it is absolutely incredible.

Received mine yesterday.

The low end/low mids are very muddy but I haven't burnt them in yet. I'm very impressed with the sound isolation though which is really what I was interested in.
