Knee Injuries

Exactly the same thing happened to me back in May. Only just recovered from it. Like you, I kept thinking it was alright. I didn't take a break from footie though, just used my left foot for most things. Anytime I did use my right, I would be in agony again.

So what happened? Did you end up going to the hospital or doctors? What is/was wrong with it?
I've since had an MRI and i've snapped my anterior cruciate ligament and done some miniscus damage.

My god, I have a 5-a-side tournament later this afternoon and I should not have opened this thread. My brother currently has a broken fibula and I still have a bruised big toe from from football 8 weeks ago. No wonder my gf calls it a dangerous sport.

Football isnt dangerous, basketball is dangerous.

Ive never injured myself playing football, but in the 5 years ive been playing basketball properly ive managed to break my wrist, **** my feet up big style and break my knee.

Football has it's dangers but nothing compared to the likes of Rugby for example! Go on knee guru the vast majority on there seem to have got their injuries from netball!!

Went to the doctor and he passed it off as torn knee cartilage. After a week or so I knew that he was wrong as it was both my knee, and my ligaments which were damaged. I could feel this with every step. My knee would crack quite badly too. It's OK now, I hope, but my knees just aren't in what you'd call tip-top condition.

NHS sucks, I injured my knee eight years ago, have had two ops on it so far and they still don't know the cause. I get a different consultant everytime I see them and 50% are exceedingly helpful the other 50% are a bunch of idiots who take no notice whatsoever of personal history and judge you in the first second of seeing you.

I have zero faith that they will ever sort it now and one of them has basically admitted that as of the age of 29 (when I had the initial injury) they have written me and my knee off and will not do anything but pay lip service to it.

One day I'll maybe earn enough money to sort it privately :(
