That was back in the news either start of this week or last, the judge threw a few of the initial cases out as there was a complete lack of evidence from what I can remember. Not sure how many have been to trial yet though

E: turns out it was only the first case, they were found guilty of robbing though. Getting deported too so that should keep everyone happy...

going on a killing spree due to some ideology or other isn't necessarily - i.e. islamists etc..

What's the difference?

It's not mental illness if you believe the voice in someone else's head?

If I say to you "you need to kill all the X because the voice in my head said so", and you decide that's a valid reason to go ahead with it, is that not just a little bit crazy?

crazy yes, but not necessarily mental illness no

humans are perfectly capable of mass killing without being mentally ill, doesn't have to concern religious beliefs either - maybe just some other group that are considered less human

Nazis killing the Jews for example, Stalin killing a bunch of people, Slave traders throwing Slaves overboard etc...
