I have a 99' Ford Focus 1.8 TDI as my first car and there is a knocking sound coming from the front end when going over bumps in the road. Even the slightest bump causes the suspension to 'knock'.

Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this? This is my first car so I'm not very experienced with the mechanical side of things.

Thanks for any help!

Yep, sounds like suspension bushes to me.
A common problem with Fiestas.

Not too expensive to replace. My friend got his rear suspension bushes done (Powerflex bushes) and the front brakes and discs for £170.
Under £100 i reckon for just bushes.

Suspension bushes probably, cheap and easy to fix :)

My first thought also, its common on most cars. 7 year old Rubber needs renewing, get poly bushes and they will last twice or three times longer. They are stiffer and give better handling/feeling, they should be standard fit really but ride comfort might be reduced slightly.

Its probably front anti roll bar ones, speedbumps dont help matters :/
