Knows faults with MSI 670 GTX

Hexus annoyingly presented their sponsored retailer dropping the price on the 670s as a top 'news' item on Friday with no mention of ocuk doing it first, or any reference to anybody else dropping prices. Really diminishes their credibility.

Yeah I spotted that, its easy to see who was first though and who was following. :)

I had to take mine out and put it in 3-4 times before I got it working, but it is working fine now (with DVI cable).

I think it may be because something on my motherboard was preventing me from pushing the card all the way in to the PCI-E slot, it is a rather long card.
Make sure you hold the card securely in place whilst screwing in the support screws (to your case).

HDMI cables aren't that expensive, just buy one online or use one from another device in your home e.g. PS3 for testing purposes.

Also, you may want to try installing the graphics card onto a fresh install of Windows, if you haven't already.

It is interesting though, because I have seen several posts about the same issue posted on the forums...
It's quite difficult to diagnose, because you are just getting 0 monitor signal, you can't even get into BIOS, but it sounds like everything is working etc.

The issue i found with mine was having EFI enabled in the BIOS,

As soon as i turned EFI back to legacy all was well.

ASUS P8P67 Deluxe and i7 2600k

i will get an HDMI cable and see if that works, does anyone know what the latest bios update for MSI G43 Intel Z87 motherboard is, or shall i just use the MSI Live Update 5 itself, does this update my graphics bios also ? or is that done manually separate? (thats assuming the HDMI route works)

im using stock bios that came with my old abit ip35 pro and the msi 670 worked 1st time

unsure why ppl need a bios update?

mb is from 2007 ish tho i think? not sure

You don't need a HDMI cable to flash the motherboards bios. Remove the graphics card and use the cpu's in built gpu. Download the latest bios to a usb stick, enter the bios and use the built in flashing tool. Do not use Liveupdate or any other windows flashing utility. After that power down, re-install the gpu and see if it works. You may need to switch between the onboard and discrete gpu's in the bios.

quick update, tried the onboard graphics, no joy still no signal, also tried hdmi, rather than dvi, no joy there either, sending msi motherboard back as it looks to be the culprit, after getting a 2nd opinion from a friend who does repairs for pcs
