Hi all,

Just wondering if any of you folks have a Kobo Glo and what you thought? I had a play with one in WHSmith the other day and was quite impressed.

Liking the EPUB support and just wondering if it supports MOBI too? The Touch (non Glo) version does according to the official site but when you check the FAQ and tech specs for the Glo it doesn't say it does.

I can't speak for the Glo (since i've never heard of it until now) but i've got the Kobo Touch and that definitely supports epub and mobi (among other format types), and with a recent update is much more responsive too.

I'd be surprised if a newer ereader didn't support those formats

Edit: Looking on here it looks as though it doesn't support mobi.

The one drawback is chiefly attributed to the suspended support of the MOBI format, which is a very Kindle friendly format.

No they removed mobi support. Not that it's a problem, takes seconds to convert to epub. Brilliant device, love mine. Same screen as the new Kindle Paperwhite with CBR/CBZ support and a microSD slot.

I'm upgrading the missus' Kobo Touch to a Glo for Christmas.

I got her the Kobo touch last christmas, and the ePub support (drag and drop simplicity) just works like a charm, and compared to her previous Kindle, it was so much nicer to hold/use..

The Glo looks like it's a real step up, so I might even get one for work..

I love Calibre, but did have a number of books go a bit dodgy when converting to EPUB on my old Sony PRS-300, probably more the device than anything else but since moving to a Kindle most of my collection is now in MOBI format so was hoping to have native support but not the end of the world.

The only thing I didn't like with the Glo was the large black band at the bottom with the page numbers when the light is on, it's really large and a real waste of space. I couldn't see a way to disable this but have been told elsewhere that it can be turned off in the settings. Am going to the shops on Sunday so will have a play in WHSmith and if that can be disabled then think I'll be picking one up.
