Hiya, got a Kolink Core Series 500W for a non overclockable build for a friend.

Ryzen 3 1200
Asrock A320M Pro4 board
8GB Ram
1TB WD HDD
Asus Wifi card
Zotac Mini GTX 1050Ti
Kolink Case with 3 Fans

Says it has 396W on the 12V Rail which i thought should easily be enough.
In my defence, they had a super tight budget, for instance i've bought the Wifi card
& I will be buying Win 10 for them.

Have i made a booboo? I still have time to buy a different unit, don't have to build it till
the weekend.

Any thoughts please?

Yes, it's crap. Did you really expect any quality for £29? The KL series sit above the Cores series and has cheap and nasty internals so god knows what junk is inside these. If you look again at the label you will see it states total max recommended 24/7 power is only 400w so even Kolink have no faith in their own product. It's not even 80+ Bronze rated and just has the basic rating. The psu is not a place to save money and it would be wise to buy a decent one that will last through several upgrades.

Hi ZXSpectrum, i steered away from the cheaper EVGA unit's cause my Brother has a 500W one & it sounds like a motorbike.... Drives me bloody nuts as it's 3 feet away.

I bought the Superflower. Hopefully Overclockers will be very understanding & take back the Kolink one that my workmate bought.

I am so broke for Christmas, maybe i can sell my CSGO Skins.............
