Had a search but cannot find a thread for this...

Korea. IL-2 Series

I mean this just look's fantastic right and has a proper career mode

Not cheap mind

Think it will be £100 on Steam release

I started a thread ages ago in gaming, it wont be £100 quid for the base game as it's currently available direct from them here: https://il2-series.com/en/store/korea/new/ at $90, so maybe £7 - 80 when it comes to steam on the 4th August.

Personally I'll be giving it some time to mature before purchasing, too many issues with it in it's current state from what I can see and some of them are quite worrying, the rubbish AI is a major concern as it's something the IL2 Great Battles series has suffered with since day one and has never been fixed.

Ah ok...

Yeh I tend to have everything on Steam so once the "Steam tax" is added, suspect it will be £100.

That rubbish AI thing is a bit of a concern. The visuals on the Steam page are jaw dropping!

The price difference between IL2 GB modules direct from the developer site and steam are very close so I don't see it being any different for Korea, main concern is that they have said the price will rise as they approach release, not sure if they mean release on Steam, release of 1.0 as opposed to early access or something else but it's already high enough that I'm not biting yet that much is sure.

AI is still rubbish from what I can see and it's way too expensive for most people other than the die hard simheads who'll pay whatever the entry price is. Not sure they're doing themselves any favours at all with the pricing structure and my gut feeling is that they'd have been better off selling it for far less and simply going for quantity of sales and aircraft DLC, all the high price is doing is reducing the already niche player base numbers even more. Perhaps they should consider a base/demo version with a single plane along the lines of DCS world, who knows, certainly not me lmao. It has made me chuckle at the apparent surprise from people on steam though, it's not like they were hiding the price before the official steam launch.

Unless I've won decently on the premium bonds this month I'll be waiting for the inevitable sale at some point in the future though even then given their history I can't see this being a reasonable price for at least a year or two, maybe they'll actually have sorted the AI out by then, I'll take a real Spitfire while I'm dreaming too thanks :p

I'm a long time out of race to buy new games or flight Sims on or near release. Apart for the software it's also the hardware to get the best out it, it's too much for the casual simmer like me.

I've a 5yr old laptop with a 3060 in it. I expect it will run this on lower settings well enough for me. I'm still waiting the opportunity to play all the cliffs of Dover stuff I got in the sales a year ago.

. IL2 series through always frustrated me with gameplay. Sniper gunners and oil leaks, joystick calibration for fine aiming etc.

Korea looks great though. I still remember Mig Alley fondly.
