Does anyone own or have experience of a Korg SP-250 and could offer an impartial review?

Thanks

You're in luck, I own one. :D

I'll try to keep it short and simple. If you're after a stage piano and this is within your budget, buy it as in my experience it can't be topped (which is why I bought one). It 'only' has thirty different sounds, but I have to say, if there were thirty sounds that I wanted my piano to have, it would be these (actually, in saying that, there is an EP sound I would have killed for, but other than that, it's fantastic), and they all sound superb. The best thing about the it, however, is the action, and when I say that, it is absolutely great. I've never played an electric piano with such a perfect action, such great balance and with such accurate response. As you can see, it looks like something you'd find in Ikea or some sort of horrible furniture shop, it's really not very pleasant to look at. However, all of the plus points about the SP-250 easily outweigh it's looks.

I cannot recommend it highly enough. :)

EDIT: If you want some pictures, just say the word. :)

This forum never cease' to impress!

I would love pictures :D If you could. Thanks for the review all the ones I have found online have been good. But nothing beats a first hand one! I have played the SV-1 which is another of there stage piano's which had a superb action and I believe the SP-250 used the same hammer system so that backs up what you say :)

I actually like the contemporary looks!

Edit: Was also looking at the Casio PX-130 but it get mixed reviews and you have to pay extra for pedals and stand :(

I didn't really know what angle to use. :s If you have a specific photo you want me to take, just say what it is and I'll take it. Be warned though, the patch in that photograph is the only clean part of my room I think. :p

I sell about 20 of them a week, very nice unit a new jump up from the Yamaha P85. The built in speakers sound nice and full, the RH3 action has a nice feel to it, the matching stand and included piano style foot pedal complete the package nicely. :)
