Kotaku and Zoe Quinn Accused of Exchanging Positive Press for Sex

I love how a link in the OP is removed because it contains swearing (shock horror), yet a thread mostly comprised of misogyny, allusions of oral sex and talking about how drunk you'd have to be to sleep with Zoe Quinn is perfectly fine.

It's interesting watching the 'journalists' close ranks around her and try to stave off any criticism with accusations of '**** shaming' and misogyny when it's a clear attempt to mask how messed up video games journalism is.

Defending a liar, fraudster and borderline criminal does them no favors.

Then again no one who cares about quality reporting would read Kotaku to begin with.

Computer game nerds get obscenely butt hurt over something quite trivial, it's quite embarrassing

Whatever 'crimes' she may have committed, the abuse that she's received is completely unwarranted.

Cheating on partner - Ok, who cares, it's between them.
Sleeping with journalists - No one cares that she sleeps with people, it's more the shabby impression it gives of the journalists themselves.
Fake DCMA takedown - illegal with fairly harsh penalties IIRC.
Fake rape claims - also illegal and dubious as hell, getting into pretty shady territory here.

There's also fairly substantial evidence that some of the 'abuse' was started by her so she can solicit donations.

Do you reckon this would work for ebay feedback? Could do with the bump.

With regards to the abuse she's received, I think it's the hypocrisy, the internetz hates hypocrisy more than it loves pictures of cats.

Completely deserves any abuse she gets - just read some of the stuff she's been spouting about sexism anv games; and observe the complete hypocrisy.

What I love is the shear amount of emphasis on her here, a small time indie developer vs the big blogs. :/ Sure, it's her bad for doing it but it's just as much their bad for accepting it. Their integrity is just as much in question as hers. Possibly more so, given the fact that they are seen as 'reputable'(well, for the internet) sources of factual information.

its more fun to focus on her it seems :p

Including death and sexual violence threats?

Swings and roundabouts.

The threats occur regardless of severity on the internet, it should be ignored, usually when violence occurs due to the internet...it isnt broadcast. (That CS:S guy that stabbed that other CS:S guy)
