KOTOR and KOTOR II

While the games felt somewhat 'clunky', and totally unbalanced as far as PC RPG's go, they were nevertheless fine titles.

Kotor 2 had a lot of potential in my eyes. So it was a tragedy when they rushed it out. Such a short sighted, money grabbing decision by the publishers... But still, customizing the lightsabres was truly fantastic. But what was the best colour? Silver was extremely cool, but there was an odd greeny shade that really floated my boat. Viridian, I think it was..?
 
Kotor 2 has much less content than kotor 1. The story is not complete theres parts missing that explain things like where the other HK droids are coming from and why etc etc.
 
Out of interest, what other decent jedi games are there?

Must agree I loved the "tradeskill" system in KOTOR2. I kicked serious arse with my two lightsaber-wielding female comrades! :)
 
in my opinion, the best SW game ever was KOTOR. i havnt palyed enough kotor2 to comment but so many star wars games have been utter crap.

Jedi Knight 2 - Jedi Outcast is the only really decent one I know of, and it's sequel, Jedi Academy, which wasn't quite as good.

Republic Commando is also an excellent fps, but no lightsabres I'm afraid. Your character actually finds one at one point and decides not to pick it up :D
 
Well i know star wars x wing alliance was considered a very good space game. Also star wars x wing and star wars tie fighter were both good space battle games.

I liked sw phantom menace on psx at the time about 4+ years ago.

Star wars pod racer is a fun racing game i supose.

Lego starwars trilogy is bit daft but ppl seem to like it. Oh and star wars battlefront games are considered good. I liked sw battlefront 1 on the xbox with playing with bro on it in co-op mode. But Kotor 1 was the best sw game ive ever played and Kotor 2 was a good extension tho could have been a lot better if lucasarts didnt rush obsidion to do kotor in 1 year flat.
 
Aside from KOTORs the only Jedi game I've played which I would genuinely call good is Jedi Academy. A lot of people prefer Jedi Outcast but it has long boring sections and frustrating platformy bits. Jedi Academy is more open-ended and was more fun to play.
 
finaly made a Jedi again, just entered the Builders tomb on Tantooine. already done the mandalorian quest and the stolen boy quest and the pron star robot quest and got my crystals from the cave, and turned Dark cat looking Jedi back tothe light (persuade is at about 11 atm lol)so its do this and then im ofski.
 
Right I'm installing KOTOR tonight... I'll order Jedi Academy too :)

Can't go to the pub as I'm working tomorrow so some gaming sounds like a good idea.

Heh... any chance of a light saber mod for Oblivion... would be fun to mess around with for about 20 minutes!
 
Thank god Bioware got Kotor III rather then Obsidian again ;)

Lets hope they just resist the temptation to make it for the xbox first.

i thought KOTORIII was still up in the aior. LucasArts said they wanted to do another but that was all that was occuring.

BioWare have Dragon Age that they are working on at the moment so i have to wonder when any possible work on KOTORIII could begin.

Hmm, am sure I read somewhere that Bioware had actually been developing KOTOR III for several months now. Will have to hunt around.

Are there any other games similar to KOTOR/KOTOR II that I could try? I'm pants at finding games I like - I almost always work from recommendations.

Do you mean in the vein of a star wars game? Or just RPG?
 
ach was up till 2 this morning playing lol. oh well, another long evening for me :D despite knowing exactly what happens the story is still pulling me in again. maybe my extra persuade skills this time will change some bit that happened later on in the last try.

Neverwinter Nights 2 and Jade Empire are by the same folks and use a similar party and good / evil system. No lightsabres though :(

I loved NWN but have heard that NWN2 isn't all that? I haven't bothered with NWN2 as I was hoping to run another Persistent World, however from what I read, the game hasn't designed to be as scalable module wise as it's predecessor :(

Damn you all, I stayed up late last night playing KOTOR and now I'm knackered at work :o
