KOTOR is getting remade in unreal 4 engine by a indie team. fan game dead

Hmm, think that quote on the article may be misleading, doesn't sound like they have any sort of official greenlight from Disney or EA.

Can you make a Star Wars game? Remakes of games have been around since the 80's and some have become very sucessful. Games like Black Mesa did it with Half Life and Renegade X rebuilt Command and Conquer in the Unreal Engine 3.

They could pass it off as a free "mod" I suppose. Then they wouldn't really be able to stop them. Things get messy when people re-use original assets and plan to make money from it.

Instead of doing HD versions of Devil may Cry, games like this should be updated, true genre defining classics that the young gamers could experience first time with the eye candy, but the original cast of voices. Great idea, let's hope no one stops them(I fear this).
 
Do u think ea/bioware might of considered remastering Kotor games in the future themselves? Maybe after this mass effect there half way through developing? Would have been cool if they did instead of a indie team.

Tho I'm happy they are trying to update it I just feel its too big of a project and they lack the man power to ever finish it as updating a open world game like this with so many levels and events I just dunno how they will do it. Video looked awesome tho.

Agreed, but I'll hope. Not enough money in it for the cash cow EA I suspect, they don't actually care about the gamers they just want to shovel as much hyped up **** to us as possible, and we buy it. Bioware did a decent job on the latest Dragon Age mind.

EDIT: If my prayers were answered and EA didn't actually buy Bioware, then Bioware could well of done an update, they were amazing before the EA buyout, the No.1 RPG publishers/developers on the planet.
