Kubunto Upgrade questions

YEs.. look at the very top portion of update manager and it will/should say that a new distro is available, Install ?

Be warned though... Last time I clicked that it created all sorts of problems. I ended up deleting the partitions and using a Gutsy Gibbon ISO I downloaded.

I seem to only have the option for Feisty.

Outcast- your warning is why I was asking. Is it best to burn a copy of Gusty to CD and use that? Is it best to format the partition first?

what I did was to move stuff I wanted to keep onto another drive/partition (NTFS) and using the new Gutsy ISO disk I then went into partition Manager and deleted the linux partitions including swap.

I then went ahead with the install and used "Guided - Use largest continuous free space " option when it asked.

Because it's a dual boot system it then asks for an account to import win stuff to.

and away it went.

Others might well choose a different path to upgrade. I chose that because I wanted the previous upgraded Feisty to Gutsy install completely wiping off the drive and a fresh installation of Gutsy putting on it.

Sounds like a safe apoach.
I might do the same and even re-partition, I use windows less and less and it would be useful to gain an extra 20gb.

More stuff is being ported to 64 bit but it's still woefully behind 32 bit.

I guess the same could be said of windows though.
