i hate kwik fit, about 6 years ago i had a saxo 1.1 and needed new front tyres, i took it there and got some ditch finders fitted, when i got back i was told they had fitted new discs and pads which i did say they could the bill came to about £200 which i didnt have, i told them i wouldnt pay
(i couldnt no cash) had a huge row and was told i had to pay the bill to get the car back, i walked home got my spare keys went back and drove my car out the car park, 2 hours later mrplod was at my door i agreed to pay for the tyres but not the brakes, mr plod went and i never heard another thing from him or kwik fit so i got new breaks for free.

haha nice, did you get your keys back ?

One of my relatives took their fiesta to the beckenham branch, left the car there and walked home as the exhaust parts were due in soon according to the branch manager. They were supposed to phone him when it was ready but, didn't so he walked back to see his car all smashed up in their car park. As he stood there in disbelief the manager came out saying that it had been done by a hit and run driver. After he had a closer look at the car and their premises it soon became clear that they had gone into the building too fast and the tyres had just slipped on the shiny floor surface resulting in a collision with a large concrete pillar which still had the blue paint on it from the car. The manager agreed to pay but, then didn't after the car was fixed. My relative eventually called the headoffice who did pay for the damage but, it took along time.
Like has already been said, some are ok - probably most of them are not.

Kwik fit destroyed four brand new tires I had when putting them on loose rims, they damaged the metal band so I was left with inflated sidewalls, luckily one deflated before they went bang. They even tried to blame it on impact damage, ie me hitting a kerb with every wheel in two days, then on a fault with the manufacturer. After some arguing I got a set of new tyres and a bit more arguing the fee for fitting and balancing.

That was Kwik-fit in Reading, avoid like the plague.

You should have called the police yourself. As soon as they demanded payment for something you didn't authorise and refused to give your car back until you did they're basically guilty of theft.

I'd have called plod and just said they'd stolen my car. They can kick up as much fuss as they like about payment for work but if they can't provide anything with your signature on to say you authorised it they'd not have a leg to stand on.
