Got two stupid questions about them. :p

Can you just turn up or do you need an appointment? On their website you can book an MOT but it doesn't say anything about tyres.

Do they accept debit/credit cards or is it just cash?

Thanks. :)

You can turn up at anytime (assuming they have the correct tyre in stock) and they take cards. Personally I go to Bathwick tyres but I think they are only in the west country.

they will also ask for a contact phone number and within a day you will get calls from their call centre asking you to rate their service.oh and by the way do you want to buy insurance, etc from them

Give them one of the spam mobile numbers for a contact

"oh we are calling from Orange" type numbers :p;)

I can echo the above. Daylight bloody robbery.

I had my own new tyres which I wanted fitted, Kwitsh*t wanted £28 just to fit them. That's just 2 tyres.

Fortunately my other half used to work for MotorWorld many moons ago so we went there and borrowed their fitting bay and did it for free.

Thought of the day....Go elsewhere.

Absolutely awful. Even if the price is good the people fitting the products couldn't care less.

I drove around for 6 months thinking I needed to budget for replacement suspension components becuase of their inept monkeys and their pathetic attempts at wheel balancing.

Kwik Fit just aren't cheaper than even delerships these days.

And tyre pressure sensors confuse them, they usually crush them when fitting the tyre, and they never put them back on the correct corner of the car.

Their free brake pads for the life of your car may sound good, but I think they expect their work on your brakes to write your car off somehow...

Last two times I went to quickfit
1 was front drivers side tyre needed renewing car left with a loud knocking noise
2 badly fitted an exhaust which was missing hangers.

Nope not going back there again.

Oooh, another good quick fit story.

My dad used to work in a garage in Kendal near kwik fit, and they'd constantly be popping over to ask how to do something.

Then when they asked how to get the gearbox out of one of the current FIAT range, he told them they "needed a special tool from FIAT".

So for the next few years they were sending all these jobs to the real garage accross the street, the special tool they needed was a 13mm spanner.

You can turn up anytime and wait 3 hours for the privilege, they always busy around here.

For them to brake your car and charge you over the odds.

Anyone know of a good place to get a tyre in Cambridge then? :D

Yellow Pages :)
Have a look around bet theres a lot of independents about or even the car dealer they are pretty reasonable lately.

And you wont have some spanner wielding chav bashing the crap out of your break muck guards :D

never use big brands, i like my local independents, good service, and cheap, chuck on some more discount cos my mum does most of their books and im a happy motorist :)

You can just turn up but they are a bunch of useless cowboys. I've bought tyres from them (they were very rude and the tyres were pants). I've bought an exhaust from them (they fitted it so badly that the car made crazy noises, it physically looked stupid and I had to take it back to another franchise after the weekend to sort it out). Therefore I don't go there anymore but It's your call... Oh and they not very cheap either.:(
