What did that feel like out of interest? I am getting a slight shakey feeling at around 40-50mph in the S-class, at first i got all paranoid that it might be the gearbox playing silly buggers but it seems smooth at other speeds :/ Could be the wheel balancing i guess?

Avoid these idiots at all costs. I took a car there a while back to have 4 new tyres and tracking etc. Only a shopping car so didn't need premium tyres etc.

Had the work completed & then got halfway down the road with a terrible noise from the car. Drove back and asked what on earth was going on. They found that one of the wheels wasn't even done up & was just about to fall off. They didn't admit it at first but I pressed the guy and he admitted it.

Needless to say I had the whole family in the car & was astounded by this. Their whole "fitted by XXX, checked by YYY" is a total joke. I phoned their head office and let off some steam & got the whole lot refunded.

Would never ever go there again. It's just not worth the risk.

Yeah, bunch of cowboys in my opinion. I had to keep returning to them after the gas shocks they fitted to my car kept failing in the warranty period. They also kept finding 'extra' things that needed doing on the car.

You can turn up at anytime (assuming they have the correct tyre in stock) and they take cards. Personally I go to Bathwick tyres but I think they are only in the west country.

Good company Bathwick, they pulled me out of the mire when I was stranded in Taunton with a shredded tyre, they did'nt have the one I needed so they went & got the required size from Kwik Fit & fitted it for me, for less than Quick Fit quoted in the first place!

Just had an excellent experience with Kwik Fit actually!

Found my rear nearside tyre totally flat this morning, whacked on the spare, took it round to em, they repaired it, rebalanced it and re-fitted it. I then said I was paying by Debit, he just said "nevermind mate, we're too busy, i cant be bothered, its on the house"

So I drove away sharpish

Would have been £17.50 otherwise... expensive but still less than ATS would have charged...

Yeah should be balancing.

To both of you, try costco, they do all 4 balanced for £9.something which is a pretty good deal, I think they have decent machines too.

I don't know what the general consensus on them is, but "National Tyres and Autocare" were very cheap for tyres, and the bloke seemed pretty honest (albeit a bit of a *****) in the Worthing branch. I'd go back, anyway.

I let National tyres do an oil change for me once (it was cheaper than buying my own oil). When I got home I had a mini engine fire as they has spilled oil all over the manifold. Luckily I was able to put it out with a nearby garden hose but if I was less aware the result could have been a burned-out car.

Hence I no longer trust them with anything. If you find a local place that is actually competent you should support them, cos they are rare.
