Kwik Fit

I used them for an air con recharge and it was fine, no complaints. I would also use them for tyre fitting if it was not cheaper elsewhere but beyond that I wouldn't use them for repairs or servicing or anything.

I used my local KF in November. Needed both fronts replacing quite urgently after I found excessive & uneven tyre wear (think canvas) just before embarking on a long drive to a funeral in the pouring rain. TBH I couldn't fault them apart from taking a bit longer than expected.

2 new brand name tyres and wheel alignment to sort the wear issue. Decent price too as the tyres were 1/3 off.

1/3 off? or have they added 1/2 on then taken 1/3 off?

Never used Kwik Fit, but I'd avoid F1 Auto Centres, whilst being cheap, my recent experience of them was very slow (an hour and a half for four new tyres and an alignment), and they didn't treat my car with much respect.

You're complaining because it took 1.5 hours to change all 4 tyres, and give your car an alignment? Just how quickly were you expecting them to do this work in? I know it says "F1 Autocentre" on the sign, but it isn't *that* much like F1.

They threw my old tyres away without asking me, I asked them to go back and get them and he made a song and dance about it. I ended up selling them for £40.00 so it was worthwhile.

Did you tell them you wanted to keep your old tyres or were they meant to read your mind?

In terms of my car, they were revving it highly, this happened four times as it went in, out, back in again for the alignment and back out again.

I'd be surprised if they were "revving it highly" with you standing there watching them. Are you sure they weren't having to rev it gently to get the wheels to go over the normally quite large humps on the lift prior to raising it in the air?

Can't really fault them for average stuff, used one yesterday as a pot hole ripped my rear tyre. I ended up paying about £20 more than if i'd have prebooked (either from them or anywhere else) but what else do you expect from a walk in service?
Monday evening tyre was borked, so i took it off the car. Tuesday morning, took the wheel in to get replacement tyre, then took it back home, put it on the car and was in work for 9:30. Most the time was just occupied sitting in rush hour traffic as ours in in the middle of sheffield.

I think you'll find numpties in all walks of life, when I used to work in Slough the local KwikFit place was OK to use put I found the local National Tyre place even friendlier and they even discounted the tyres a bit more even though I had ordered and book on line.

My local F1 Centre was also fine but when I turned up in the morning they did warn me that there would be a big delay so I chose to come back later after lunch when they were a bit quieter.

In all cases I didn't sit there and watch them, just let them get on with it.

*slow clap*...

My local can change four in half an hour, it's only due to F1 being cheaper that I used them. Whether or not I'd opt for the more expensive, but superior service next time remains to be seen.

As I mentioned previously, I wouldn't have been bothered if they were either busy or working consistently on it, but I could see all of them messing about at times and it does start to grate when you've been sitting there for awhile.

I'm probably used to my local, again, whom would always ask whether I wanted to keep them (there was some life left in the tyres, I changed due to preference). I'd assumed it wasn't an uncommon request to have.

No, they were revving it highly to get in the garage, and then out, not just onto and off the ramps. I wasn't just "standing there", I was in the waiting room with a glass pane between us.

It doesn't negate the fact they were messing about, and I could quite easily see that they were wasting time because I was the only customer. I'd not even walked in, this was pre-booked and ordered online in advance.

You seem to be attacking every point I've made. I didn't enjoy the service, that is all.
