Looking to buy one (PP or BT) or 3 people to gift.

I've got kinda lost reading through this thread as to who is offering to split a pack and who is looking for somebody to split for them.

Is it worth starting a new thread, with someone creating a list in the first post to show groups of four people who want to join up to buy the L4D2 Four Pack?

Basically you'll post to say whether you already have a four pack and want to split (PURCHASER), or you want to buy a copy from someone who wants to split (GIFTER). You'll be responsible for contacting each other to arrange payment through BT or PP etc.

Needless to say, a lot of trust is being shown when doing this. Lets hope we all abide by the community spirit and do not turn this into a farce/rip off. You'll be responsible within the groups if something goes wrong.

I guess some ground rules need to apply:-

1. If you post, you are serious about buying the game and not just wasting peoples time.
2. If you agree to be part of a group, you'll agree whos going to be the PURCHASER and who are going to the GIFTERS.

What do you reckon?

I agree with what you are saying. There's already a thread for this though which people said at the time wasn't needed because of the one we have already. If things have changed it's probs best to use that one.

As already suggested I think we should arrange tournaments for the groups of 4 who own the pack for versus mode once the game is out. (I'm in two groups but meh, a loner ie midnight cud always take my place in one of them.) :p

Ok, we just need somewhere to post groups of four. Do you have the link to the other thread? So people can see which groups are available and finally to see what the tournament groups might be - which by the way i'm up for :)
 
It would make it a great deal easier, like I say after reading some 130+ posts of people offering to gift and others asking to be gifted, I lost the plot completely.

Tournaments is a real nice idea, would be a complete logistics nightmare trying to get all 8 people online at the same time though I guess :S
 
Right I've got a mate that wants to go for this so there are two of us, mail via trust if you want to join in, we need two more.

£20.25 IF you buy it with 4 friends and share the cost...

Not being funny but a whole new game price for the same game with bells/whistles/ribbons attached to it is a slight let down.

I seem to remember a link that link posted ages ago from Valve saying they were thinking of charging a smallish fee, like a bolt on £10'er for the new stuff (iirc) I'm sure they were lolling under their breath when they were saying that whilst all the time rubbing their hands with glee and stroking the cash-cow.

Anyway, enough rant as I will be buying the game regardless and played LFD until the hilt of boredom. The only fear of buying a whole new game is that it's not "a whole new game" and I might get bored quicker than I did in the first.

I'm sure I'll still get copius amounts of game time put away though...anyone know if they are release the four new maps as versus from the start or are they going to slack with that too?
 
it's a little annoying that they haven't update L4D maps to include some of the promod changes, let alone adding more campaigns

but still, roll on L4D2

Yeah, I just get this whole feeling of a big apathetic "meh" given to me/LFD fans from the developers. Like a silent middle fingered "we'll do what we want".

Quite a contrast to the devs on TF2 for example, where I get a warm fuzzy loving feeling when thinking about them ;)
