Hey, just bought this the other day. After having a quick bash on it I've got a question. I want to play through the games campaign(s) in singleplayer, with I assume, dialouge and cutscenes etc. Like most games have. But the singleplayer mode enables me to play any level/mission in any of the campaigns, withought ever playing the game before. And I've just played through the first campaign without any cutscenes or storyline etc? Is this right? It doesn't 'feel' like an actual game playing like this?

Am I completley missing something? Can you only play through a campaign online or what? I'm sure I'm just being a 'tard

Cheers, borgia.

The only cut scene is the one when you first load the game. There are comics that have more back story I believe, but I haven't looked into them.

It is more of an online game to play with friends. Playing single player is pretty boring and even just playing with randoms can get tiresome.

I only really play the survival mode as you can keep playing a map to try and beat your time.

Ah rite. From watching the trailers and the opening cutscene I was expecting more of the same! Guess not!

The singleplayer just feels abit odd (and boring) without any storyline!

The idea in L4D1 was that you're playing actors in a film, so you sort of make it up as you go along.

Though I have never really looked that much you are supposed to be able to piece together some sort of story if your read all the writing in the safe houses. There is probably a lot more stuff if you look hard enough.

But yeah the real stories are the games on mulitplayer which are different every time.

There isn't really a "single player" it's just 4 player co-op with bots which are spectacularly thick. The game isn't about story, it's about killing zombies with your mates in varying scenarios, if you are playing it alone you get doing it wrong.

L4Dx splayed single player is terrifically dull. It's all about the online experience and the feel of working together.
