Got my Cisco apprenticeship interviews etc out of the way (waiting for the call in around 2 weeks ) ... So now to get back on studying for my CCNA!

Was college so equivalent to A levels. By the end of the 3 year apprenticeship the pay will be the same as someone who is applying as a graduate from uni.

Something like a BTEC? Your in a real good position there, excellent opportunity.

Yes a BTEC. Best opportunity I'm going to get in a long time! Apparently like 140 applied, somehow the apprenticeship company (QA) who teach you narrowed it down to about 22 of us. They have to interview a few more on the 31st, will find out a few days after that. /fingers crossed, 7 places available so.

Indeed around £150 ish at the moment.

I'd sell a couple of my 3550's for that much!

I've had a quick look and yeah they seem to be around 120 ish..

If you can get hold of an EMI image you can save some money and pick up a 3550 SMI and load it up with the EMI image, the hardware is exactly the same the only difference is the IOS . I paid £75 for mine.

Had a look look, one of the SMI ones is £90 inc postage. So the hardware is the same though they can't do L3 'stuff'? Therefore you need to get the EMI image from wherever to like enable that.
