Wondewring - what drives do they use in these ?

also - are they replacable ?

Used to be Maxtors, now Seagates I believe.

Seagate & Hitachi generally but can change if they get a better deal from another vendor. The most important factor is that the drives inside do the job they need.

yep they had a few problems with maxtor i belive, all my newer lacie ( last 9 months ) have been seagate or hitatchi.
