Lack of 4k resolution choice within Windows 10

but I'm still miffed why it is so vague in the first place in regards to the specs of the HDMI in the first place.

just chalk in down to experience and make sure you research it beforehand.
First thing I do is make sure whatever I am buying is suitable for what I want it for. Websites often are either incorrect or vague or misleading in their descriptions. Been doing that for years and years. If possible is it under 14 days since purchase then send it back.

As this is an enthusiasts board I would suspect most people get a monitor for UHD as connecting a PC to a TV for UHD is not known to give good results everytime. Always has that console owner stigma for me but thats just my opinion.

You could even say the card is not 4k at all but UHD but niggles and piggles make you wiggle.

That may be coil whine or a Fan issue. Both of which would require an RMA if you were annoyed by them.

Coil Whine is normal tbh.. Both my 290x have it

Certainly not coil whine, the fans or a fan of the 3 at-least sounds like it is about to shred itself apart when under very heavy load. It is very...disconcerting.

Where does it say that exactly?

I don't see in the OCUK vague description anywhere it claims to do 4K never mind 4K@60

Considering the fact that after I posted on these forums and in the technical components section, the 390's all got pulled from sale and the entire 390 categories are no longer within the actual sales lists. I wouldn't be surprised if they have been revised. Awfully coincidental for the entire lot to be pulled down a few hours after I post in regards to them to the staff here at OCUK.

You are running Fallout 4 at Ultra 4k on a 390 at 50-60fps?

Good one.

Actually I'm dead serious, running it on vanilla ultra settings at 4k is about 30-40, get the mods that reduce the base textures down a few thousand marks from their stupid implmentation of 4-8k textures even on low. And I get 50-60. Although it is not vanilla files with that mod, they are still very large textures and the game itself is hungry as is. But it actually runs perfectly fine.

I'm not entirely sure what makes you think the 390 isn't a viable GPU for 4k aside from the old 1.4a HDMI port. It has been running everything perfectly fine aside from the aforementioned issues of the fans and the HDMI Port.

It's fine for most of the games you mentioned.

Elite Dangerous, American Truck Simulator etc aren't demanding games.

Try playing Rise of the Tomb Raider or HITMAN or Deus Ex: Mankind Divided at 4k.

Yes, Ocuk definitely did pull every 390 from sale because you made an assumption and got it wrong.

.....Or they just run out of cards to sell. Most people would choose a 480 over a 390 anyway.

Those actually would be some pretty fun games to try out at 4k. Elite Dangerous is pretty Graphics intensive. Although I do see your point in regards to ATS and such.

Was more just the idea that it was suddenly very coincidental that after I raised the issues, the direct link that still works to the card I purchased and am still able to check, the description has changed, and all the 390 categories and such have vanished also.

And the 480 wasn't released when I purchased the 390. Just as an FYI.
