The Radeons get an advantage at higher resolutions with AA+AF but it's a minimal FPS increase really. If I were in your position, I would've personally just kept my 7800GTX really.
Understandable, it happens sometimes. Just have to keep in mind to check for benchmarks in future (ask the folks here) before buying or selling.Tommy B said:Yeah I kind of regretted it once the bloke I sold it to sent the money, but it was too late.

In your shoes I'd go for the X1900XT at the moment, if I wanted top-end and not cheaping out like I usually do. Good price-performance in comparison to the rest, good IQ, not really heard any bad reports about them. Definitely not worth £50+ for the extra -X.
Tommy B said:That's what I'm doing. I know for fact that at Christmas I'll upgrade my GFX card again so I don't see the point in spending too much. The -X thing is just ridiculous tbh. The benchmarks show a pathetically small difference between the XT and the XTX; certainly not justified by an extra £50.
Not much of a speed boost to justify £50+ though, even if you are overclocking like crazy.turbotoaster said:unless your overclocking them, then then xtx memory is much better and can be clocked a lot higher than the xt memory

Unfortunately, it's not on there, but they're still great benchmarks for reference. Just pretend that the 7600GT SLi is where the X1800XT goes and you're set.locutus12 said:erm, where the hecks the X1800XT ???![]()

I thought that the pecking order went GTX512 > X1800XT512/256 > GTX256. I could easily be wrong though, in which case just pretend that the X1800XT is where the GTX 512 is in those benchmarks or a little higher.locutus12 said:lol, would be nice but an X1800XT 512mb will beat a 7800GTX ... would have been interesting to see if it beat the X1900XT lol.
You could try volt-modding your 7900GT, supposedly they go to GTX speed with a bit of prayer. Since you already have a VF900 on it, you're already pretty much a go if you want to try it.man_from_uncle said:Really good benchmarks. Makes me want to get a second 7900gt and a larger monitor.
My name in the Man from Uncle......and I am a Technoholic.

Anandtech really should do a "roundup" for summer like Tom's does.

Yay!man_from_uncle said:Way ahead of you. Just got 11,000+ in 3dmark05. That's a 45% increase over stock speeds..
