Lack of new games

Listen, some games people have recommended above are games thats worth your money.

UT2007 will not be out for quite some time.

This thread without a doubt wasted the site's bandwith lol.

Have you ever give games such as:

- Half Life 2
- Battlefield 2
- Battlefield 2142

a thought?

If not, then it is about time you actually buy them and play.

go buy oblivion, half life2

if you want a truly amazing PC experience, and don't mind stepping back in time to a dated look, then buy baldur's gate 2 . Best game ever.

PC gaming is different to console gaming. On PC's i guess you could say it's a more niche / hardcore ethic. Meaning that you know more specifically the way you want to game, and dedicate more of your time to a few specific games/ types of games. Whereas with consoles it's the way to go if you want a more casual experience, and to be flustered with multiple releases to move between the way you seem to want.

my 4yr old P4 3.2 still runs everything i throw at it, including R6V
the 360 version looks better ,agreed ,but its far easier as its a console game
i have too many games on the PC including CoH, bF2, 2142 ,DoDS
keep the PC and ask your parents to buy you a 360

For me COD2's strong point is in the single player. Absolutely breathtaking. The MP is crap for me tho.

BF2142's MP is great.

I'm not into those types of games. I like shooting and explosions.

As you've only bought one game, maybe you should stop worrying about a lack of new games and play some old ones? The following are full of shooting and explosions, and all as good as/better than FEAR:

Halflife Collection
Far Cry
Doom3 +expansion
Call of Duty Deluxe
Call of Duty 2
Serious Sam Gold
Serious Sam 2
Medal of Honour: Pacific Assault
Freespace 2 +SCP/mods
No One Lives Forever 2
Tribes Vengeance
Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy
Dawn of War Anthology
Painkiller +expansion

I think a lot of people forget that the PC has the best back catalogue of ANY platform. I could take a year off work and still not have time to catch up on all the games I'd like to play.

To be honest, if you bought a PC to play games which werent going to be released until March/May (Even though people have listed some good games) then I don't see why you didnt buy an Xbox360 until then and you could have got a lot more for your money in March.

Although saying that, buying those 4 games you listed new would cost something like £140 (Xbox360 ones that is)

you are not alone neocon with your opinion, im hugely upset with every game that is coming out lately, though this may be as i want to be a game maker when im older so i need to judge games bad points so i know when making my own (fingers crossed)

i built my pc in may costing me £2000 for everything, and up until xmas day ihad only ever bough bf2 as all the rest seemed so rubbish. I hate games like Doom3 which, though i have no actual proof other then a guess from the screenshots, is what games like Fear, prey, hl2 all look like.

I also just got flight simluator x, was rubbish, never winter nights 2, even worse, was like playing KOTOR 1 but not as good.

Actually i lie, i played oblivion which was amazing game. I recoomend it but obviously you said you dont like those types of games.

every game made latelt, though it may be good, all i can see when playing it is they can do more then this so why arent they which means i am missing out on the good parts and only concentrating on the bad.

I'm going to get a 360 just as soon as I can afford a HDTV.

The line-up for 2007 for the 360 looks so awesome.
