Lad buys PS2 on eBay - gets £44,000 instead!

"Police are trying to trace the owner of 65,400 euros (£44,000) mistakenly sent to a teenager who bought a Playstation Two for £95 on eBay.
The cash arrived in a box at the house in Aylsham, Norfolk, instead of the games console."

Now would you of gone to the police? my first thought was no, but then what if they (the senders) come looking for you?

What would you do?

I'd report it to the cops, just in case it was someone you didn't want to mess with's money.

If the money is dirty then the criminals will hardly going to claim it meaning the family can then apply for the money when the time limit is up.

Surely they can just trace the owner from the Ebay account ??

I think I migth try and claim it's my money. I lost it on holiday last year.

I know what happened. It was a set up for a money transfer. They didn't think anyone would be stupid enough to pay that much so they had the buying of the PS2 as the signal for the money to transfer. It was the Mafia

I'd keep it and if the bloke came looking i'd say I never got it, make it all look legit that I didn't, blame it on royal mail.

I'd keep it, then e-mail the seller asking why he hasn't sent me anything yet, and then report them to Ebay.
