LaFerrari (the Enzo successor)

Iffy design and frankly daft name. It just looks awkward.

Why can't Ferrari go back to doing stylish items of utter want, rather than going after performance at any cost? The classic Ferrari's weren't exactly quick, but damn they were pretty.

It looks absolutely stunning.

But LaFerrari........LaToya.......LaSenza........meh. I know some folk have commented it really shouldn't matter what the name is because just look at the thing but I believe such an awesome piece of automotive machinery should be christened something befitting. The name kinda 'makes' the car complete in a way and quite honestly 'LaFerrari' doesn't cut it. I imagine some corporate image consultant was paid huge amounts of cash to come up with it as well. :p

Aerodynamically it looks wilder than I expected it to. You gotta like those air scoops built into the doors that you can see in the 2nd picture.

I'm more of a McLaren fan so am hoping that the P1 will edge it out on Top Gear, but if they get a showdown of those together in the next season, that will be quite an episode.

I get the impression that the P1 is smaller and more neatly packaged, but that's from the photos alone so that might not be right. I also wouldn't be surprised if they tweak another 50bhp out of the P1.

Finally, anyone else notice that the McLaren tub requires no roof structure, whereas the Ferrari does? McLaren must be happy about that.

I doubt it really, as far as I know the P1 is based upon the same tub as the 12c and, again, as far as I know the 12c was designed first as a convertible so they got all the strength in the tub meaning there wouldn't be the usual chassis trade off's of cutting off the roof. I also believe the 458 was designed this way but, and I am assuming here, the LaFe....I can't say that name it's stupid! .... either has been designed to only be a hard top or they haven't shown off a convertible tub.

I agree though stupid name, would even put it even more stupid than mp4-12c for a name. I think it looks good, it has a purposeful beauty to it like fighter jets but doesn't look tradiationally beautiful. Still would buy one though if I wont the euro's.

It's because they no longer make aesthetically beautiful cars. Their car's used to be designed by artists, now they are designed to be functional for the sake of performance.

I think the 599 was handsome, the GTO less so. The 575M was also a good looking car.
The 308 was a good looking car, so was the 355. Everything they made in the 1950's and 60's was beautiful.

Even car's which are supposed to be beautiful today aren't. Just think of the new quattroporte, they've ruined it.

What I was saying is that mclaren appear to have constructed a tub that does not require roof structure for rigidity for the same weight as the Ferrari offering. It is impressive.

Looks cool, liking the similarities to the old Enzo (can't believe how old that is now!)

Name is ridiculous. I can't say it out loud with a straight face.

Given the choice of the P1, Veneno and this Ferrari, it's an easy decision to go with the Ferrari for me.

The lambo looks ridiculous, and not in a good way
The P1 is ugly at the front
This could be prettier, but compared to the other two it's a 20 odd year old lingerie model where the others are a couple of pensioners with bed sores.
