hey guys i've got an old

Asus A7n8x-e and when i load up mohaa i get mega lag and i know it is caused by graphics but...

i've installed the latest drivers and i get the same

can someone send me the latest direct x or something or give me some idea how to fix this please ? :D
 
old and slow ?

mate my whole machine is but it worked fine the other and has happened before but installing the drivers done it then so what is it now ?

can sum1 send directx pls ?

Asus a7n8x-e Mobo
And Geforce FX 5700 GFX

and in the op i put my mobo instead of my gfx card what a noob :D

Lose the FX 5700 - depending on your budget get either a S/H 6800GT or a 7600GT, and the rest of the system should run a lot better in games.
 
So it worked fine before and now it doesn't? You sure there is still space free on your hard drive (at least 500MB+ for swap file)? Using graphics drivers that work well with your card? (latest is not always best, particularly with older cards like yours). Have latest DirectX and have motherboard drivers installed? Haven't changed any settings in the graphics card driver panel that would result in heavy performance loss (like AA/AF)?

And just to 100% clarify by lag you mean, it is really jerky and slow, like a slideshow? Or only slow at certain points? You don't mean your Internet connection is lagging yes (i.e. the bullets don't seem to be hitting to the target until half a second after you pressed the button and the animation fired)?

For free: Lower the resolution you run the game at, lower the detail for the game, download the latest nvidia drivers from the nvidia website, make sure you have directx 9.0c.

For free / very little: Read the overclocking thread at the top of the forum and see if you can overclock your card.
 
Are you positive it's your graphic card and not network lag ? (on the presumption you're talking about online play of course). Apart from the obvious of updating your mobo and graphic drivers you should give your PC a scan for viruses and adware.

I can't understand why people are suggesting to upgrade your system as it's more than enough to play mohaa with everything whacked up. Remember fella's, mohaa is a DX8 game and nearly 5 years old.
 
If you say it worked fine before you chanaged the drivers, why not use Windows XP's rollback feature to go back to the previous driver?
