Lag in games at start of a map load - randomly

Hello, wonder if you guys can spare some ideas on what could be causing this..


When playing black ops and a map first loads its laggy for around ten seconds, as if something is slowing my pc down/needs to catch up, also i can lag for a second or so randomly, or when a lot is happening, which with my specs, shouldnt happen.

My hard drive is always making noise as if its still loading the map or something, but with what it is i thought it would be plenty fast enough, maybe i need a new one?

My specs:

running windows 7 64bit.

Sounds like map loading to me. If that is what is causing it only an SSD will make a noticeable difference.

strange though i just wondered if this is normal, and does it happen with others?

Defrag your drive and move it to the raptor if it is installed to that maxtor.

I have BlackOps and play it all the time and every map I load up I have this issue
as well, don't worry your not alone I think its just part of the game to be honest.

I usually stay out the way for 10 seconds or just go in and see what happens.

Ataro it's on the raptor and defragged weekely. Shadz thanks for clearing that up for me, i do that aswell so guess ill just keep doing it
