Lag Spikes in Games

Playing the new call of duty coincided with a hardware upgrade, but in game I have massive what seems like lag spikes. I have a few per game, I can still move but no one else does then BAM I'm probably dead. NAT Type Open, opened up the ports - didn't fix it.

I started playing some Diablo 3 yesterday, and I get a similar lag spike from time to time.

I've just rebooted the router and hub, but I wanted to make sure it's not likely down to new hardware - I did update the BIOS the other day.

2900X, 2080ti, Virgin Media Broadband (max 350+)

no WiFi, Asus ROG Strix X570-F Gaming

I have the same issue. Ryzen 1800x, geforce 1080ti. Lag spikes every 10 seconds. Also Virgin Media.

Please share the solution if you find one

I haven’t played the games quite so intensely, due to work, but after rebooting the router I can’t say I’ve noticed the problem reoccur. There have been multiple nobodies updates in this time too I think

well latency is about 30ms in game and just played a few now with no issues so think problem resolved

Could have been the notorious superhub issue, later firmware fixes it (or successfully mitigates it), though thought everyone would have had that update already.

GeForce experience, uninstall it.

Also make sure Game mode is off in Windows.

If you have Killer Networking installed turn off advanced stream detection.
