MY lain d5 is running off the 12v at the mo. How would you run it off larger volts. just wondered because the volt rating from 8-24v

You would need a dedicated psu to supply anything other than the 12v your computers psu can supply

That's the sensible answer.

IIRC the performance increase for higher voltages is slight while heat dump into the loop goes up sharply, meaning it's not actually worth overvolting them.
