I'm thinking of purchasing a Laing DDC pump for my upcomming watercooling project, i notice it has a 3pin fan connector on it, my mohterboard has a 4pin fan though, will this be a problem or can they run on the 4pin fan? :)

The 3 pin connector is for monitoring the pumps speed & yes your can connect this to your motherboards 4 pin cpu fan header, the pump it's self is powered by a 4 pin molex.

As above the 4 pin header has a kind of tab so the 3pin fits on with one pin exposed/unused (see pic)

the three pin connector is so you can plug it into your board as above.

with the ddc pump it is a good idea to have it plugged in an set the bios to shut down the pc if there is a failure - prevents component damage in the event of a pump failure.
