Lair on PS3

I've had this on my rental list since it came out in my top 5 (out of curiosity more than anything else) and still never been sent it so it must be a pretty popular choice.

You'll have to let us know how you find the entire game mate when you finish it.

watched a video review of this and it basically looked rubbish. Had a lot of promise but in the end it seems to be a rush job with many bugs and badly implemented controls.

My brother-in-law brought this game for me for Christmas, and here's a short review of it for anyone interested..

You start of with a terrible cut scene, then you do some training which you think hey the controls arn't bad and it's pretty easy to fly this thing. Then the game starts and your introduced to quite possibly the worst game on the planet. There u go..

I traded it in for the Orange Box.

BTW: the yellow arrow tells you where to head (sort of) and the red arrow points to the enemy if you can really care.

The voice acting, well the less said the better, thank god Factor 5 have moved over to developing for the Wii, although they better improve the graphics because Lair would look rubbish even on the Wii.

be warned this game isn't even worth a rental IMO, I wouldn't even take a copy if they were being handed out for free. (apart from to sell on)

Thanks for the comments guys.

I am guilty of checking the bay occasionally, to see if I can find a cheap 2nd hand copy.

I don't know why. Before it was released, I thought the videos made the game appear boring.

After it came out, people said the controls were naff.

I rewatched the gameplay videos, and still thought it looked boring.. well, not immediately boring, but looked like if that's the same thing over and over, it would get boring. Shame, as Factor 5 did those other cool dogfighting games, like Rogue Squadron on the PC and N64, and I also bought the two Gamecube sequels (though never completed, as I love the dogfighting, HATE the running around bits)

So I guess in the back of my mind, is that they've done dogfighting so well in the past. It looks pretty. The music sounds really epic. But, everybody keeps saying how crap it is, but there's a part of me that still wants a go.

I'll try to put it out of my mind again now though.... it's for the best I'm sure ;)
I've more than enough games to keep me busy for now, and Burnout coming next week.

It's going - I've had a few complaints so far. Sorry.

Totally OT, but who was the sig before the freaky eyes? Looked like John Cleese, but deffo wasn't. And those freaky eyes, were they famous eyes I would know, or just random?

Oh no, blimey, which ones worse?
Scary eyes, or the pope farting?

Well, the scary eyes, obviously, but... the pope is scary too!

It was a Latvian politician, but I can't remember the name right now. As for the eyes, they were just a figment of your imagination, eheheh.

On topic - Lair etc, ;)
