Lambda Sensor?

Hiya,

Could a dodgy lambda sensor cause a car to feel like it's misfiring?

Mine is having it replaced tomorrow as the Emissions light is on.

The car just started to feel like it's misfiring after I had a "spirited" drive. The whole while I was granny driving it was fine....?

Injector may be blocked? I had something similar in my old car. The garage shoved some engine treatment through and it sorted itself out.

May be worth a shot as it'll be a cheap fix if nothing else is obvious.

It was on mine, started off being a bit of a hesitation at certain RPM's disappearing and coming back to quite violent (over about a month or so). I'm no mechanic, speaking only from limited experience. But then it's cheap and easy to try it.

I think the O2 sensor is symptom of a bigger issue rather than the cause. You're maybe not burning all the fuel properly hence giving an emissions light.

so the engine emission light was due to a dogdy Lambda. Had a new un fitted but it's misfiring even worse than before now!?

Do I need to disconnect the battery to reset the ECU? or would the fact that the warning light is out mean this isn't a problem and there's something else wrong?

I'm going to whip the HT leads and coil pack off my old Outback and try them on the new one. fingers crossed........
