Surely that makes the "daddy" a cretin. No parent who loves their kid would buy them a supercar for their 16th/17th. It's a death wish. Most 16/17 year olds would be over the moon to get a brand new 1.6 Mini/Golf etc for their birthday.

If American TV has taught me anything, its that uber rich stupid parents will spend stupid money to shut up their whining stupid bratt offspring, and anything they do buy wont be good enough.

I agree but I think they are deliberately portrayed like that. Part of the conditions for the show is you have to get the kid a nice car. On the UK one a girl got a Golf GTI for her 16th... wtf?

Update: Thanks to Pessimippopotamus's internet-fu, we get a full update from MosNews, and it's a doozy. Apparently, the driver, one 22-year-old Yuri was driving at three times the speed limit, blasting through the streets at 124 MPH while his new 16-year-old friend Christian was, um, "entertaining" him, causing Yuri to lose control, hit the Civic and a lost wheel punctured the gas tank of the Ford Mondeo which became engulfed in flames and smashed in a taxi cab. Miraculously nobody died in the incident, though apparently passenger Christian suffered a serious injury when his head hit the steering wheel. Something tells us this was not what young Christian had in mind when he asked Yuri for a ride.

In addition to the Lambo, there's at least a foreign-market Honda Civic hatch and a fire ball that used to be... something. Murcielago got the worst of it though, hitting something so hard it actually broke the rim. If you're in Moscow, be wary of any Craigslist ads about a Murcielago almost as good as new.

driving round hooning about showing off to their mates / girls in the car.

typically yes. most of them seem to have a level of sensible-ness that men couldnt even dream of. they have so much self preservation lol

then you get the girls who are a bit more fearless and fairly talented. it sucks because sometimes they can be really fast.

then you get the ones who really know what theyre behind the wheel and they almost immediately become sex on legs :D

That's because girls don't have testicles. It's the perfect defence in court- "The testicles made me do it m'lud".

Having said that I'd rather be an idiot and have testicles :)
