Hi,
Not sure if this is in the right place....
But recently I logged onto our netgear router and looked at the logs, to my surprise I found that an external IP address had tried to connect to a LAN computer, this was happening a lot !
I then matched the LAN ip to one of the computers that is in our network and it turns out to be an Ipad ??
Now, i'v searched the internet to see if an ipad can be hacked or even infected with viruses which it sort of cant, as long as you have no 3rd party apps. which there isnt, and its not jailbroken.
Iv tracked one of the IP addresses and one turned out to be in use in China.... Which is starting to worry me.
There are many different IP address's so it would be pretty useless trying to block them. Iv blocked the port in which they tried to use ' 39893' but now they are using 8888, tried to block that and gave me an error message saying 'invalid starting port' which has got me confused, but again its probably pointless trying to block ports.
All other machines on the network are clean and have firewalls.
Is there anything else I can do to prevent this from happening ?
Can this put any other computer at risk ?
thanks.
