Okay, time for the shameless Easter Weekend invitation!

I'm an organiser for a Lan event called fragM - we're a Manchester based group, currently gearing up for our fifth Lan, which is being quite heavily sponsored :D

Expect three days of tournaments, prizes, and pizza!
The main tournaments are qurrently: CS:S, ET:QW, Quake3, Retro/Projector, Wii and C&C3.. tho we're open to suggestions!

Favourites in the past have been Soldat, Trackmania, Savage, Urban Terror, Fifa.. pretty much anything and everything :)

So anywho.. check us out, come along, take something home..
You know the drill :)

Im in Manc so im interested

I seriously suggest a cod4 tourney, though :)

Got a site?

well since theres a lot of geeks that live with parents and kids with more money than sense theres enough money for multiple lan events...?!?

yes but you cant be in 2 places at the same time .......... theyre on the same weekend.

anim but i-series generally gets fully booked doesnt it? Its not like manchester is anywhere near newbury either..

fragM expects a different audience ;)

I wouldn't go to iSeries, I prefer smaller events where I actually get to know people.. I can put names to faces of pretty much everyone that comes nowadays :)

I know it's not amazing business practice booking the same time as a larger competitor, but *you* try booking a decent Lan venue :P

Had a look at the site and looks like you have some decent sponsorship. Any ideas on how you gonna be spreading that stuff around as prizes ?

Howdy :)

1st) welcome to the forums :)

2nd) We haven't assigned prizes to tourneys yet (will do so this week), but if you take a look at the previous events write-ups, you'll get a brief idea..

We usually try and make the prizes 'match' the tourney, so the Q3 winner would get a set of Medusas, the trackmania winner would get a 360 pad, the Wii tourney winner would get some numchucks..

Tho the very best prize is free pizza, of course ;)

Lot of people avoid iSeries now as its become so much less of a fun event. This is coming from various MPUK people I know from seeing them at Centralanuk (stoke area - end of this month)

Good luck with the LAN though, think I'm busy around then otherwise might be interested.

I'm in Manchester so this sounds quite interesting, does it matter if we play crap and smell worse?

and do we have to bring our own pc's/screen as i don't think i could be bothered doing that?

thirdly will there be drink :D

ooo sign me up for one of the SS mouse mats, Been using my desk for the last 2 years :p

1) As long as you don't sit near me ;) It really doesn't matter if you don't play to win, there's a few games I join in that I'm n00bish at..

2) Yup, this is a bring your own computer Lan.

3) As much as you can carry with you! We'll also be selling Can's o' lager and stuff, and we usually use a crate of beer as the prize for the pub quiz :)

I see you're in Manchester.. there's a thread on our forum for people wishing to grab a lift.. it worked out for quite a few people at the last Lan :)
