Hi experts, hope you can help. I'm building a new PC replacing a 10+ year Haswell build and have some concerns. Link to the case manual and page related to the hub:

Motherboard = Asrock B850 Riptide

In the picture there are two northbound cables.
CN1 = PWM header and I assume ARGB.
First concern is the pinouts don't align with the MB manual which lists
PWM = (Pin4) FAN_SPEED_CONTROLLER (P3) FAN_SPEED (P2) FAN_VOLTAGE (P1) GND
AIO = (P4) GND (P3) NOT_USED (P2) DO_ADDR (P1) VOUT

None of the fans connected to the hub are ARGB, so perhaps can just skip that connection?

CN2 to PSU connector. What is the for?

From what I can gather in the picture, this is for some kind of fan/controller hub, right?

What usually happens with these hubs, is that they collect together all the fans in one hub, so that you only need to plug the power/PWM and ARGB leads into one point on the motherboard (each, 1x for PWM, 1x for ARGB). Otherwise, you'd have to connect all the fans individually (or daisy chain them together).

Fan/controller hubs are often powered by SATA connectors from the PSU. If they provide power to and control the fans, then you may find that the PWM lead has only a few wires instead of the 4 they're supposed to have.

Makes sense, unless there's a strip light or something like that in the case.

Having just built in this case, I also found this manual a bit confusing, but the way is this:

All the case fans are pre-wired to the hub.

From the hub come 3 wires:
- fan pwm
- argb
- sata power

connect the fan pwm cable to a chassis fan connector on the motherboard (4 pins)

connect the argb to the argb connector on your motherboard (looks like 4 pins but it has one of the middle pins missing, so it's 3 pins) (or just don't connect it if you aren't using argb or aren't sure) (do not connect it to a 4 pin connector)

connect the sata power to your power supply (via a cable which came with power supply)

job done

I hadn't noticed the cables from the hub (hiding in the frame). In my google search for Lian hub I came across SATA, and thought that's weird..... I didn't put 2+2, I get it now. Thanks both. Will give it a go tomorrow. It's obvious when you know!!
Off topic but on Asrock mobos the PWR headers are called FAN, is there a difference between:

CHA_FAN[1-3] (Pin4) FAN_SPEED_CONTROLLER (P3) FAN_SPEED (P2) FAN_VOLTAGE (P1) GND
CPU_FAN2 & AIO_PUMP (same as above)
CPU_FAN1 (Pin4) FAN_SPEED_CONTROLLER (P3) FAN_SPEED (P2) +12V (P1) GND

(4-pin CPU_FAN1) (see p.7, No. 4) This header allows you to connect CPU fan.
(4-pin CPU_FAN2) (see p.7, No. 5) This header allows you to connect CPU fan or Water Pump.

One thing the manual notes is that the primary CPU fan header only supports 1 amp (12 watts), whereas the secondary fan header and the pump header supports 3 amp (36 watts).

My assumption would be that an air cooler is expected to be connected to CPU fan header 1.

In reference to the bolded items, I think what they're saying is that they have assumed you will use a 4 pin PWM fan (from a CPU cooler) on the primary CPU fan header.

Whereas, the chassis fans, CPU fan 2 and the pump header may have 3 pin fans plugged in, which use pin 2 for variable voltage control. PWM fans are always 12v and don't use this mechanism to control their speed.
 
Thanks all for the input. Bit of a faf putting it together, like GPU blocking access to SATA ports. Thankfully it started up first time :) Created some custom fan curves within BIOS. It's very quiet at idle, not had a change to push it hard yet.
