Hi,

Is anybody on here using a Lancool K7 case?

Just wondering how wide they are (and whether a Thermalright TRUE would fit) and if there is enough room to fit an ati 5870 in there?

It will be a replacement for my Antec P180 which is starting to fall apart - panels separating, things rattling/buzzing in the case etc.. Driving me a bit nuts so I'm after a nice solid metal paneled case. :)

Tried looking for a nice plain spacious equivalent Lian-Li (which I know its based on) but there's nothing a really like.

...OCUK only seem to have champagne coloured one in though... no black. :(

They are very similar to the Lian Li B25b and they are wide enough for the TRUE. Well I haven't actually used a TRUE in mine but the Megahalem and Noctua NH-D14 fit perfectly so I don't think the TRUE will have any issues.

You can also fit a 5870 in them without any problems.

Thanks for the info. The only one currently in stock is the champagne gold one - which is a bit different but would ideally like to see one in the flesh (or metal ;) ) first.

It's either this or the Fractal Design R2 - which aren't in stock at the moment. That's going back to plastic/hybrid materials though, which haven't faired too well with my antec case. I do like it's cable routing though, but it doesn't look too bad in the K7 either.

Decisions decisions. I guess I could always get the gold case resprayed if I don't like it as it seems to be dismantled easily. :D

Well, everything rehoused into the new case. Slight problem with the heatsink - it does fit, but I needed to take it off when installing the motherboard tray as it catches on the psu support bar.

Spent some time routing cables, but may need to do some more tidying. The 5870 fits in fine as well.

I'll probably take some pics and post them up later. :D
