Handed my CV in today, and within 20 minutes(during my bus journey home) I got a call asking if I could come in for an Interview tomorrow. Pretty Happy :)
This is my second interview, although my first one wasn't really a job or no job situation, I pretty much had the position before hand.

Just wondering, what do you reckon would be the best thing to wear? I just popped into town there and spent £200+ on a new pull over, trousers and belt.
Thinking of just wearing white shirt, tie, pullover, black trousers and shoes. Or, is that a bad idea? Should a suit be worn instead?

Any other useful interview tips would be brilliant. The position is in retail - fashion.

:)

Isusually wear suits to interviews, but then these are only for part time jobs, as long as your not shovelling **** go over the top, it wont leave a bad impression.

Have a little Google on “interview questions”, and have some ideas in your head on how to answer the most usual ones such as the ones below, (try and keep your answers positive). Make eye contact in the interview and try and relax.

Tell me about yourself
Why did you leave your last job?
What do you know about this organization?
Why do you want to work for us?
How would you deal with a difficult customer
Give an example of when you have received great service
What are your strengths/weaknesses

etc

Just back from the interview, and tbh.....it went pretty good :) I'm pleased and very confident about getting the position. I also got a phone call while I was out, from a manager who seemed pretty keen on getting a hold of me. Upon phoning her back she asked me if I'd be interested in having an interview for a supervisor position this week. I must be doing something right if they want me interviewed for supervising.

Overall, very pleased :)

Wheres ** interview for?

Might be useful in giving us an idea of what you might be asked.

Thinking about the situation more now....I'm quite worried. If all goes well and I just by chance get offered both positions, what would I choose  The supervisor position would obviously be best but that would mean there would be more expected of me, and having no prior experience I could end up loosing the job right away if I don't perform well.

Any opinions?

Nah, you'll pick it up easy. They obviously wont expect you to be able to do a job without telling you how to do it first.

Only diff will be you have more responsibility and might have to make more decisions (all common sense stuff). Like negotiating with difficult cusomers.
It'l be easy once you get the hang of it.

Right, second interview tomorrow. Looking forward to it, although I'm not sure what I should say or do to secure the position. I've not heard anything back from my previous interview so I'm taking it I failed for whatever reason.

As the part is for a supervisor, is there anything I should say or to that would set me above the rest? Something that would make me stand out more than most, considering I have no previous experience.

Don't lie about what you've done, it'll come back and bite you in the ass. Try and ensure you don't give conflicting information, particularly if anybody in the 2nd interview was in the 1st as well. They will pick up on it. Expect questions about how you would lead/motivate the team and encourage teamwork and the like.

Good luck with the supervisor position, just try and sound keen and helpful. When we are looking for people, it is essential to detect some sort of enthusiasm. If they ask if you are ambitious, the correct answer is 'Yes'. :)

I don't know about anyone else but I ALWAYS wear a suit to an interview as I always feel first impression's count for a lot :) Good luck with your interview though :D
